WCRI FlashReport: The Impact of the 2004 PPD Reforms in Tennessee:  Early Evidence

By Carol A. Telles, Evelina Radeva

May 1, 2008 Related Topics: Indemnity Benefits

This WCRI FlashReport presents early evidence of the impact of the 2004 reforms in Tennessee related to permanent partial disability (PPD) and lump-sum settlements.  The analysis focused on claims with about a year of post-reform experience.

Although in most states this early snapshot would be premature, PPD resolves earlier in Tennessee than in other states we studied. The results presented are an early, but important, snapshot of how the system is adjusting to the PPD reforms.
