- the Golden State encompasses about one of every 5 work comp premium/equivalent dollars
- trends tend to start/grow in California (unlisted codes, physician dispensing, cumulative trauma, patient harvesting) and work their way eastward.
Earlier this month WCRI released a report indicating medical costs increased 7% last year, a bigger increase than the 6% annual increase for the previous 2 years. One notable finding—which won’t come as a surprise to regular readers—is the biggest driver is hospitals.
