Business Insurance: Prices paid for workers compensation medical professional services rose faster in most states from 2021 to 2024, largely reflecting higher inflation in the general economy, according to a report released Thursday by the Workers Compensation Research Institute.
The Waltham, Massachusetts-based institute said price growth slowed in many states in 2025, according to the report comparing prices paid for nonhospital professional services across 36 states. The study covers services billed by physicians, physical therapists and chiropractors, including evaluation and management, physical medicine, surgery, radiology, neurological testing, pain management injections and emergency care.
