Since the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has publicly deemed the health risk of the coronavirus for the general American public to be low at this time, we are proceeding with WCRI's 36th Annual Issues & Research Conference, March 5-6, 2020, in Boston, MA.

Safety Measures:

  • For attendees returning from Level 2 or 3 Health Care Notice areas, please review CDC recommendations and observe appropriate precautions.
  • Attendees should not travel to our conference if they are feeling unwell.
  • While the risk remains low at this time, WCRI encourages a handshake-free meeting.
  • The World Health Organization (WHO) and the CDC advise people to spend at least 20 seconds scrubbing their hands, especially after going to the bathroom and before eating — as well as after blowing their nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • The conference hotel is reinforcing recommended measures on appropriate sanitation standards and following the guidance of the CDC, the WHO, and local health authorities.

In closing, please know the health, safety, and well-being of our attendees is our highest priority. We are closely monitoring CDC and WHO updates and will notify our attendees of any developments that might impact our conference.
