Cambridge, MA, Dec. 10, 2019 ― The Workers Compensation Research Institute (WCRI) announced today that its 36th Annual Issues & Research Conference, March 5 and 6, 2020, at the Westin Copley Place in Boston, will be the greenest ever.

“We can all take steps to reduce our carbon footprint,” said John Ruser, president and CEO of WCRI. “At this year’s conference, we are taking a big leap by working with our members to reduce ours.”

The following are among the ways WCRI is greening its conference:

  • Partnering with TripZero to offset the carbon footprint (travel and hotel) of those who attend the conference
  • Using biodegradable badges
  • Using pitchers of water and reusable cups to avoid use and disposal of plastic bottles
  • Moving the majority of its paper (slides, attendance lists, etc.) to the conference app

The WCRI conference is a leading workers’ compensation forum. The two-day program highlights the Institute’s latest research findings while drawing upon the diverse perspectives of highly respected workers’ compensation experts and policymakers from across the country. Conference participants will leave with new insights, valuable networking contacts, and a better understanding of key issues in today’s competitive environment.

A discounted, early-bird conference registration rate and a special conference hotel rate are available for a limited time. To learn more or to register, visit https://conference.wcrinet.org/
