WCRI Research conference offers new
strategies to manage key workers' compensation issues
Early
Registration Discount Ends This Week
CAMBRIDGE, MA,
September 28, 2011 –
New research providing innovative approaches to manage
critical workers' compensation issues
will be
presented at the Workers Compensation Research
Institute’s (WCRI) 28th Annual Issues & Research
Conference, scheduled for Nov.
16-17 in Boston. The early registration discount ends this
Friday, Sept. 30, 2011.
The two-day program
highlights
the first presentations of WCRI’s latest research findings
while drawing upon the diverse perspectives of
highly-respected workers’ compensation experts and
policymakers from across the country.
According to Michael Fenlon, Senior Director for Corporate
Risk Management at UPS, “Regardless of your position in the
workers’ compensation field, this is the conference to
attend.”
This year’s agenda focuses on highly-visible challenges and
innovative approaches for key issues in workers’
compensation, such as:
·
Rising hospital costs – where to focus cost containment efforts?
·
The proliferation of narcotics – what can be done?
·
What are successful public policies for managing prescription
costs?
·
Are injured workers receiving adequate and equitable benefits? What
does the evidence say?
·
What innovative approaches are being used to manage chronic pain
and improve outcomes?
Each year, the workers' compensation community — from public officials and labor representatives to
disability claims analysts and risk managers — attends WCRI’s
Annual Issues & Research Conference
to gain new strategies and lessons that they can employ
immediately.
Bob Steggert, V.P., Casualty Claims at Marriot
International, agrees, “WCRI’s
cutting-edge research and the opportunity to engage with
workers’ compensation experts help me understand and address
the challenges facing my organization.”
