Percentage of Claims with More Than 7 Days of Lost Time in Which Date of First Indemnity Payment Was within 14 Days from Date of Payor Notice of Injury, 2007/2008

Notes: 2007/2008 refers to claim arising in October 2006 through September 2007, evaluated as of March 2008. The measure here does not purport to show compliance with individual state requirements for timely payment and will differ from data from the workers' compensation agency. The WCRI data include claims that were denied and/or litigated but paid within the evaluation cutoff, as well as claims in which the workers were not continuously disabled from the date of injury, so the obligation to pay did not arise until later in the claim.

* The 15-state median is the state ranked 8th on a given measure; that state changes depending on the measure being evaluated.
