Table 8  Ambulatory Surgery Center Fee Regulations as of January 1, 2008

Ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) are health care facilities which offer the opportunity to have selected surgical and procedural services performed outside the hospital setting. These are usually surgical procedures that allow the patient to enter the center, have the surgery and leave the center the same day. States once again must decide what method they will use in regulating these fees. This table itemizes this information as of January 1, 2008 for the states that regulate these fees in the workers' compensation system.
